You must apply through the Los Angeles Brazilian Consulate if you live in any of the jurisdictions below:
Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming and within California the counties of Imperial, Kernn, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Visa applications are submitted Monday through Thursday.
Visa Fees:
Tourist visa fees vary according to the nationality of the passport holder:
- United States: US$ 160.00, charged in reciprocity for an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a tourist visa to the U.S.
- Australia: US$ 35.00
- Canada: US$ 65.00
- Japan: US$ 25.00
- Mexico: US$ 30.00
- Nigeria: US$ 65.00
- United Arab Emirates: US$75.00;
- United Kingdom: US$175.00 (only if stay is over 180 days);
- all other remaining countries: US$20.00.
An additional fee of US$ 20.00 will be charged for any application not submitted in person by the applicant, regardless of nationality. A U.S. passport holder would pay $180 ($160 Brazilian visa fee + $20 courier submission).

Tourist Visa Requirements:
- Applicant's passport, valid for at least 6 months, signed and with at least one blank visa page available (amendment page not accepted)
- One recent 2" x 2" passport photo of the applicant, front view, white background glued in the appropriate box onto the printed online application - note that snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted.
- Photocopy of your round-trip ticket or a booked itinerary showing travel to and from Brazil (confirming the purchase of the ticket, with passenger’s name, itinerary, flight number and arrival/departure dates)
- proof of residency (driver's license, utility bill)
- Photocopy of the U.S. Alien Resident Card for foreign residents and/or a valid visa or document to return from Brazil to the US or to another country
- Visa Requirements for Minors (under 18 years): Both parents must sign the receipt page in the appropriate signature box. The original and one copy of birth certificate must be presented. A notarized visa consent letter for minor children must be presented and signed by both parents.
Turnaround time is usually 2 weeks. The time begins when the application is submitted. Longer processing times may apply, especially in the high season. There are no rush or emergency fees. Visas will not be issued on the same day the application is received. Processing time for Tourist Groups are longer.
The Consulate may request additional information or documentation as deemed necessary.

Visa Information for US Passport Holders:
The Chinese Consulates and Embassy only accept visa applications by an "in-person" submission. You must use a courier to submit your visa applications or personally hand carry your application/s to the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles.

For those traveling on a U. S. Passport, you may apply for a single, double, 6 month or 1 year multiple entry visa all for the same Chinese Consulate fee of $140.
S2 Visa for adopting parents for U.S. Passport Holders (scroll down for tourist and business travel):
Please include in your package:
- A copy of your TA (Travel Approval) from CCCWA.
- For children under 12 years who are applying for a visa, the Consulate requires a copy of their birth certificate, consent letter from the non-traveling parent (only needed if one parent is traveling), and a copy of the non-traveling parent's passport or driver's license.
- Children born in China who are applying for a visa must submit their actual Chinese passport (passport will be canceled and returned), a copy of their adoption paper showing their name change, and a copy of their U.S. birth certificate (if you have readopted).
- If you have traveled to China previously and have renewed your passport, you must either have one prior visa in your renewed passport or you must send your expired/canceled passport and a copy of a prior visa from your expired/canceled passport.

Visa Information for Non-U.S. Passport Holders:
The Chinese Consulates and Embassy only accept visa applications by an "in-person" submission. You must use a courier to submit your visa applications or hand carry your application/s to the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles.
- $60 for a 6 month multiple visa for a 4 to 5 business day turnaround.
- $90 for a one year multiple visa for a 4 to 5 business day turnaround.
- Expediting fee is as follows: an additional $15 for the next business day turnaround. The Consulate no longer offers the same day service, except in cases of emergencies. The Consulate reserves the right not to extend expedited services.
- Courier fees are $75 (total not per visa) for up to 5 visas and $105 (total not per visa) for 6 visas or more. There is an additional expediting fee of $15 for the next business day turnaround.
Please include the following in your package:
- Supplemental Form (Fill in only the section that applies to your traveling situation) must be filled in online, printed, and signed.
- If you were previously issued a Chinese passport and this is your first visa, then your actual Chinese passport is required. The passport will be canceled and returned.
- If you have traveled to China previously and have renewed your passport, you must either have one prior visa in your renewed passport or you must send your expired/canceled passport with your expired visa and a copy of a prior visa from your expired/canceled passport.
